Tucked away on a side road in Hounslow sits Thakers, a vegetarian Indian street food place. The first thing that drew me there was just how modern it looks, and the food did not disappoint. I have gone for the Paneer Tikka Massala twice, the first time out of being afraid of the immense choice on display, and the second time because I liked it so much.
I can’t be the person to judge how authentic it is, but each element seems spot on to me. It is certainly a lunch-time portion, and the amount amount of rice is quite tiny. Still, the roti makes up for it, and it is worth the £6 . I am a hungry person, but the portion size will satisfy nearly everyone. The lunch-timeyness needn’t cause you to lower expectations though: the curry is delicious and on par with the best I’ve had. Thakers is my favourite place to eat in Hounslow.
